🔹"Continuous customer commitment to our cloud platform and strong sales performance led to better-than-expected 28% growth in commercial bookings and $23.4 billion in Microsoft Cloud revenue, up 32% year-over-year," the financial director Amy Hood in a press release.
🔹In the current quarter, Microsoft expects sales of $52.8 billion, based on the midpoint of the forecast. This is in line with Wall Street's target for the June quarter. A year earlier, the company's sales amounted to $46.2 billion.
🔹Microsoft shares jumped 6% to 286.50 in overtime trading on the stock market today. In Tuesday's regular session, Microsoft shares fell 3.7% to close at 270.22 amid a broad sell-off in the market.
🔹Smart cloud division is the best manufacturer
✔️Of the three business segments, Microsoft Intelligent Cloud performed best in the March quarter. Revenue in this segment increased by 26% year-on-year to $19.1 billion. The division includes server products and cloud services such as Azure infrastructure offerings.
✔️Sales of Microsoft Productivity and Business Processes grew 17% to $15.8 billion. The division includes Office productivity software, as well as the Dynamics and LinkedIn divisions. Finally, Microsoft's More Personal Computing division reported an 11% increase in sales to $14.5 billion in the third fiscal quarter. The device includes Windows software, Xbox video games, Surface computers, internet searches, and ads.
